Prainha Beach
Situated to the west of Rio de Janeiro, is the tranquil, exotic and clean Prainha Beach. Prainha is a small beach
sandwiched between mountains and is regarded as one of the best surfing spots in Rio. Enclosed by the
beautiful green hills of Rio's rainforests, Prainha beach portrays white sands and astounding scenery. The local
population is very gracious like the other Cariocas.
Most crowded on weekends, Prainha is virtually desolate on
weekdays. The beach has typical kiosks that sell food and beverages but if you want to carry some food it's
worthwhile although there is a small informal restaurant nearby.
You can be sure that all visitors will undeniably
be impressed by the alluring Prainha beach.
Grumari Beach
A wild beach surrounded by rolling hills, covered with a lush tropical forest.
Coarse white sand, the sound of birds singing, the surf breaking... is it paradise? Almost.
It's Grumari on a weekday.
This beach is preserved, and you may see a strip of original Mata Atlântica, the rain
forest that covered the hills of Rio before the Portuguese set foot here, as the beach is part of the Municipal Natural Park of Grumari
